The covered entity (CE), AllyAlign Health, Inc., reported that it was the victim of a ransomware attack that affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 33,932 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, mailing addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional technical safeguards to protect its ePHI.
